Long Hollow Ranch – Guest Ranch Vacations – Sisters, OR

Talk about having the best of both world; situated in a peaceful valley that looks and feels remote. Yet, it is only minutes away from the nostalgic western town of Sisters, the city of Redmond and the upscale vacation mecca of Bend, OR. Also nearby are mountains to bike or ski, rivers to raft, and trails to hike, with beautiful scenery at every turn.

Meanwhile back at the ranch you can mount a well-mannered horse, fly fish one of the ranch ponds, hike the nearby trails, or settle into a comfortable chair on the verandah.

In the evening, the night sky at Long Hollow lights up like a Christmas tree. Far from the city lights ranch guests can enjoy the wonder of the billions of stars flung across the vast expanse of the night sky.

Long Hollow Ranch is a historical gem in Central Oregon. The main buildings at the ranch date back over 125 and have been tastefully and comfortably updated. The main guest house has five guest rooms, each with its own private bath. The Cottage is the repurposed former stage stop and cowboy commissary. While the Homestead House, our newest guest venue, is the original ranch house which dates to the 1890’s. Long Hollow Ranch was headquarters for the Black Butte Land and Livestock Company in the early 20th century.

Over the past century, Long Hollow was a self-sustaining working ranch where beef and milk cattle, chickens, hogs, sheep, and horses were raised. We remain a working ranch with beef cattle and horses. The Old Santiam Wagon Road ran through the ranch, and some remains of the road are still visible.

Surrounded by Central Oregon’s magnificent natural beauty, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and the ranch would be your base for your visit to some of the Pacific Northwest’s most scenic recreation areas. You can roam antique and quilt stores in Sisters and Redmond, golf on the area’s beautiful courses and take advantage of the many outdoor activities such as Smith Rock just minutes away.
